Don Birmingham

Don Birmingham began working for the Wichita Fire Department in 1979.  After more than 24 years Don retired in 2002.  During his time on the Wichita Fire Department Don performed many duties including more than 15 years in the Fire/Arson Investigation Unit.  Don also started the Wichita Fire Department’s first Accelerant Detection Canine Team in 1995.  He has testified in both civil and criminal courts in Sedgwick County.

Don has a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University and is a licensed private investigator in the state of Kansas.  He is a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator with National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) and is a member of the IAAI and the KS IAAI.  He has been investigating fires for the private sector since 2007.
